What is Live Oak Communications: Live Oak is student-run strategic communication and design agency that gives Elon University School of Communications' students the unique experience of partnering with real clients. They have worked with numerous businesses, nonprofits, and organizations providing innovative communications strategies and tactics with a fresh perspective and a fun professional agency atmosphere. With young, vibrant leaders in the communications field driving our agency, they create exceptional campaigns that deliver measurable results. Their capabilities are extensive, ranging from public relations to advertising, video, web design, social media solutions, logo and graphic design, corporate identity, and beyond.
My Role: I was hired by Live Oak to be an Account Executive. I transferred to Elon my sophomore year and Live Oak is something I wish I got involved with prior to my senior year. I didn't know it existed until my junior year and I knew come my senior year it was something I needed to do. While working a the agency I worked with other account executives and a team of designers to create exceptional deliverables for our clients, Village Grill / Blue Ribbon Diner. These were two restaurants in the local area that needed help with social media and creating things like table toppers. I met so many great professionals and friends through this program and I believe it was helped me understand that when working in an agency setting, though I could be a great account executive, I wanted to be a designer.
